And so it goes…

Thanks for joining me!

I am Shae, my friends call me ShaeBo or ShaeShae. I have considered writing a blog for a very long time now. But I let fear stop me. I’ve let fear run my life for the last three years. August 11, 2018, I said “no more!” to fear. So, here I am writing my first blog post at 3:36AM =) I do have to give credit to a friend that has gently nudged me in this direction. Thank you, Steve!

You can check out his blog here: http://www.saturdayswithsteve.com/

A little about me…my labels: Child of God, MommaBear – Mother to boys (grown), Mother in Law, Gigi – Grandmother to boys, Aunt, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Real Estate Agent (license is currently inactive), Loan Officer Assistant and Floral Designer. My personality type is INTJ. I am an introvert to the core.

I kind of view this blog as my “sharable diary”.  Hopefully, you will experience smiles and a little encouragement from my words. And just maybe along the way, I can prevent another woman from waiting until she is 46 to finally choose herself over toxic relationships.

I am a people pleaser and have had to chant this to myself since my teenage years.

“You cannot please anyone every time and you cannot please everyone any of the time.”

I do not know about you guys but I really, really wanted my 2019 to begin with an adventure, a grand epiphany, or at least a feeling of accomplishment. Instead, it was like the shower that you have to take just because it is time to shower. And it isn’t even a “good” shower; IE. the hot water relaxes you, or you feel rejuvenated. It was just a day. A boring, non-adventurous, some routine chores were thrown in for good measure, just blah day. So, if you (like me) did not get the perfect start that you wanted for 2019, I promise that it is ok.

However, I did have peace today and that is something I never take for granted. I stuck to my familiar life and it was a good day. Good is ok. Good is acceptable. Good is contentment.

John 16:33 New International Version (NIV)

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

We have today! January 2, 2019, this is our day!
